SEVN: Acoustic test at Wexford Arts Centre
My first venue visit to test acoustics for solo viola as part of my SEVN bursary. Check out the video to hear the differences from stairwell, gallery and theatre spaces.
Creation 21/22 weekend
I must admit, when I first got this award, to receive mentoring for a year in cross genre work, I felt slightly uncomfortable. I had imposter syndrome. This feeling continued as I arrived at my first day to meet my fellow recipients this weekend.
SEVN: research phase/part one
I am only at the beginning of this journey to try and list as many pieces for solo, unaccompanied viola, written by female composers, as possible. This is in no way a comprehensive list and I will be editing and updating over the next year. If you are reading this and are aware of other works/composers I have missed, please do get in touch.
Press Release: SEVN bursary
Beth, who is Artistic Director of Musici Ireland, will use the bursary to research and discover repertoire for solo viola. This will include both long forgotten and contemporary works, with a particular focus on Irish and female composers.
